MANHATTAN SHORT, Journalism & Multi-Media Competition is designed to discover and promote all the aspiring journalists, television hosts, news reporters, bloggers, photgraphers and online marketers from all over the world to showcase their talents and in one place at ManhattanShort.com
This is your chance to be part of the World's First Global Film Festival. This competition is open to everyone in the world and is free to enter.
How it works: During the week of September 28th to October 7th 2012, ten award-winning short films from ten separate countries already selected as Finalists in the 2012 MANHATTAN SHORT Film Festival. These films will screen over 1000 times to an audience of over 100,000 film lovers gathered cinemas, museums, schools and universities in over 250 cities throughout 6 continents in one week. Audience members at each venue are asked to vote for the one film they think should win, with votes sent to MANHATTAN SHORT HQ, where the winners are announced on Sunday Oct 7th.
Your Assignment: Organize your very own Media Team to represent your City, Town, University or School that has elected to host and be a venue the 2012 MANHATTAN SHORT and report on the happenings in your town. From

Suggested topics to cover on your media channel
Reporter: What films did your audience vote for and why? This must be the first question asked. Any form of I-Phone or Flip Camera will do and the best place to do the reporting from is where the audience hand in their votes. The most important quality to have is good sound. SOUND, SOUND, SOUND try and find a camera that enables you to insert a hand held microphone to it... after that consider...On the street or in the theater - first hand reports and reactions from the audience. Dig Deep - Be creative and have fun!
* Give us an insight into the people that attend - interview the film-goers- as probing questions- first timers, old timers - would they do it again? Come up with your own list of thoughtful questions.
* The staging of the event in your town - highlight the venue- give some background information, build suspense. This event is taking place in over 250 cities in the world this same week. Give us your town.
*The History of your town/university - create a scene - build a narrative - tell the story - make it real - make it fun!
Each Media Channel must have people covering these four elements:
a) A Social Media Producer
b) TV Host/Hostess
c) Journalist & Team Writer
d) Photographer & DP (Cameraman)
